This disciple is concerned with the study its basic theories, key technological innovations and major industry applications, mainly including: (1) Geographic Information Science and Technology: collection and summary of spatial data, understanding of geographic information, spatial data and GIS-based analysis uncertainties, geographic information interoperability, 3D GIS, big geo-data and high performance computer technologies and future geographic information framework, etc. (2) Spatial Information System and Engineering: spatial information network and smart computing, digital Earth (city) system theory and materialization technology, application of spatial information in defense engineering, digital mine and smart mine.
